Dr. Ingrid Mann is selected for the position as the EISCAT_3D Project Manager. She will start working on 1 August, 2011, at the EISCAT Headquarters in Kiruna, where she will move after her current employment at the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy.
The 3rd user meeting for the EISCAT_3D project took place in Uppsala, Sweden, on 18-20 May, 2011. It focused on planning for the science of the EISCAT_3D project, emphasising atmospheric physics in particular.
The EISCAT Scientific Association invites applications for observing time on the EISCAT facilities in 2011, by individual scientists, research groups, and consortia throughout the world on equal, competitive basis. This means that anyone can apply, independent of whether or not the applicant is from an EISCAT associate country.
In our efforts of building a vibrant, international EISCAT and EISCAT_3D user community, and in order to reach out to users preferring other means of rapid communication than e-mail, we have recently taken social networking tools into use to promote EISCAT_3D, spread EISCAT-related news, and create a number of forums for discussion and outreach.
