The Norwegian EISCAT community has submitted an applications for funding from the Research Council of Norway (Forskningsrådet). The application is for funding towards construction of EISCAT_3D.
The 17th EISCAT Symposium and 42nd Atmospheric Studies by Optical Methods (42AM) symposia will be hosted by the South African National Space Agency on 14-18 September 2015 in Hermanus, South Africa. The meetings are planned to run in parallel, with some common sessions and shared activities.

The EU-funded EISCAT_3D Preparatory Phase project comes to a close today after four years of hard work by the entire team. EISCAT_3D is now poised to proceed to an Implementation Phase, pending funding commitments from the interested national research councils.
EISCAT would like to thank everybody that have been involved in this project for making it as successful as it has been.
The EISCAT_3D Preparatory Phase End of Project Summary Meeting was held 10 - 12 September at Space Campus Kiruna, Sweden. The meeting consisted of an EISCAT_3D General Assembly meeting, an EISCAT_3D All-Hands meeting and a public Project Summary presentation.

The 6th user meeting for the EISCAT_3D project took place in Uppsala, Sweden, on May 12-14, 2014. The focus of the meeting was on complementary measurements.

The 2014 incoherent scatter radar summer school was held at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, from July 21 to July 26. The school provided students with hands-on experience in designing and running experiments at incoherent scatter radar facilities.
